能聽懂母語人士速度較慢的口說,並能談論廣泛的主題。但因字彙量有限,無法討論細節。

Can understand native speakers speaking slowly and can have a conversation on a wide number of topics. Can't discuss in detail because of limited vocabulary.


能了解母語人士的口說,並且可和他們對話。文法不會影響溝通,但有限的字彙量讓特定談論的細節顯得有點吃力、遲鈍。

Can understand and participate in conversations with native speakers. Grammar doesn't affect communication, but limited vocabulary makes detailed discussion difficult.


能用日常英語和母語人士良好溝通。有足夠的字彙量談論廣泛的主題,文法和流暢度不會影響溝通,但需要較多的特定領域的字彙量。

Can communicate well with a native speaker using every day English. S/he has enough vocabulary to talk about a wide range of topics. Grammar and fluency don't affect communication, but needs more detailed vocabulary.


Listening

能聽懂較有深度的社交談話,但尚無法聽懂更深入的專業演講及節目等。 實例:能聽懂他人談論關於色盲的話題,但由於主題有所延伸及出現專有名詞,而無法聽懂色盲藝術家Neil Harbisson的演講主題:"I Listen To Color" 中的內容,如:"So I decided to continue extending my color senses, and I added infrared and I added ultraviolet to the color-to-sound scale, so now I can hear colors that the human eye cannot perceive"(於是我決定繼續擴展我的色彩感覺,我把紅外線和紫外線加入到這個色彩/聲音譜,就能聽見那些人眼所無法看到的顏色)。

Students understands more advanced social conversations, but cannot understand English speeches, reports and programs. E.g. Student is able to understand topics about achromatopsia. But s/he cannot understand the speech "I Listen To Color" of Neil Harbisson - an artist suffered with achromatopsia. For example, "So I decided to continue extending my color senses, and I added infrared and I added ultraviolet to the color-to-sound scale, so now I can hear colors that the human eye cannot perceive".

Reading

能閱讀較深入的書信及說明書等,也能分析及判斷文章內容,瞭解敘述者的觀點及態度。但無法閱讀較深入之報章雜誌。 實例:能閱讀iPhone 5較深入的產品介紹或使用說明等,但由於閱讀主題延伸及字彙量不足,而無法閱讀與iPhone系列產品或Apple公司相關之較深入的報章雜誌。

Students are able to read and understand more advanced English letters, reports, and understand the viewpoints the author wants to express. But s/he cannot understand more advanced newspapers or magazine articles. E.g. The student can read a more difficult operation manual like iPhone 5's operation manual. But s/he cannot understand more advanced news report or magazine article on this topic.

Writing

能將中文句子與段落翻譯成英文,對於熟悉且與個人經歷相關的主題,能以簡易的文字表達,但無法書寫一般工作報告與書信。 實例:能以簡易文字表達個人至國外旅行的經歷,但因不熟悉一般國外出差報告的書寫用語與格式,而無法書寫一般國外出差報告。

Students are able to translate longer Chinese articles to English, and can write about something they have experienced or are familiar with. However, they cannot write professionally - such as proper work reports or business mails. E.g. Students can use simple and casual words to write about their oversea travel experiences, but they cannot write a professional business trip report.
